Reopening Information

We are open to the public as of June 1—but on an appointment-only basis. Because appointments are limited, we encourage customers to call us at 303-271-8121 or email us to complete your transaction remotely. If you do come in person, we are adhering to public health guidance and strongly encourage the use of face masks.

The Clerk and Recorder, like many Jefferson County Offices, has transitioned to a four-day business week. Our hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

Appointments

We are seeing customers in person for specific services by appointment only. Click here to schedule an appointment.*

*If you are making an appointment from out of state, please note your appointment is for local Mountain time.

NOTE: For marriage/civil union appointments, only the two applicants will be permitted in the office.

Responsibilities

The Recording Division is responsible for recording, imaging, indexing, retrieving and copying public documents.  We also issue marriage and civil union licenses.
