Jefferson County Motor Vehicle is dedicated to helping you register your vehicle. The county does not handle driver’s licenses. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles issues driver’s licenses or identification cards at separate state office locations.

Due to equipment failure, the Lakewood Motor Vehicle office located at 2099 Wadsworth Blvd. will not be issuing marriage licenses. Unfortunately, the equipment is out indefinitely. Please visit one of our other locations or the Recording Office located at 100 Jefferson County Pkwy.

Colorado has established a vehicle emission-testing program designed to help improve air quality in and around Denver, Boulder and the Northern Front Range.
You must have Colorado insurance coverage on the vehicle you wish to register. Insurance in the previous owners’ name is not acceptable.
