The county manager is responsible for implementing the Board of County Commissioners’ policies and priorities, balancing an annual budget of more than $600 million and overseeing the day-to-day operations of one of Colorado’s largest counties.
The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) has identified Deputy County Manager, Kate Newman, as acting County Manager. The BCC is currently in the recruitment process to fill this important leadership position.
With nearly 3,000 employees, we provide services to more than a half million residents.
Effective June 1, 2020, Jefferson County transitioned to a 4-day business week. As a result, the County Manager’s Office is closed on Fridays.
