Geology in the Parks

Stop in at the trailhead anytime between 8 and 10 a.m. to learn about the geology of North Table Mountain and the land use changes that occurred as it went from quarry to JCOS park. Then, take a leisurely hike up North Table Mountain on your own to observe the 63-65 million year old lava flows that comprise part of the mountain. The program will take place at the North Table Mountain West Trailhead at 4788 Highway 93 Golden, CO 80403. Drop-in program. No registration required.
