Meet Our New JPP Coach, Suzanne!

My name is Suzanne and I am excited to introduce myself as a new coach for JPP. I have lived in Colorado since I was 2 years old and grew up in Boulder. I attended CSU in Ft. Collins and have lived in Golden for 23 years.

I have two grown daughters, Melanie (age 34) and Julie (age 32) and one grandson, Jackson (age 12). My older daughter and grandson live in Cripple Creek and Julie owns a house in Keenesburg. My husband and I have been married 4 ½ years and enjoy spending time with his granddaughter, Cody (age 29) and his great grandsons, Shawn (age 6), and Sam (age 2).

We enjoy hiking, gardening, playing with our 2 year old cat, Odie, and walking to downtown Golden to enjoy the creek and all the restaurants. My favorite past time is reading!

As a retired Jeffco elementary school teacher, I am passionate about education, creating community and opportunities for life long learning and growth. Creating and fostering close relationships with families is very important to me. I look forward to meeting all of you and am grateful to be a part of the JPP community.

Free and Low Cost Internet Service

The Federal Communications Commission announced that 20 of the nation's internet providers have committed to lowering costs for low-income households, a step that will essentially provide free high speed internet for those participating the Affordable Connectivity Program. For Colorado residents to get their share of the funding, families need to sign up for themselves.

The Foundation for Excellence in Education has developed resources to assist districts in sharing the program with families who may qualify for this free/reduced priced internet service. The flyers and social media images in the toolkit are designed so districts are able to place their logo on both the Summer and Back to School campaigns before sharing.

See the Affordable Connectivity Program website for additional information.
