As a reminder, we do this assessment every year with every JPP family in order to collect valuable data to help us HELP YOU and to keep JPP funded for another year through grants!

Affordable Spring Break Fun in Colorado!

Make this Spring Break one to remember without breaking the bank!
  • LOCAL! Apex Center Indoor Waterpark
  • LOCAL! Argo Mill Tour (Idaho Springs)   
  • LOCAL! Free tour of the Capitol in Denver
  • LOCAL! Feed the baby goats or experience goat yoga at Mountain Flower Goat Dairy, a small farm in Boulder

  • Visit Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs
  • Tour the Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs
  • Take a tour of a Colorado Ghost Town
  • Visit SunCrest Orchard Alpacas in Palisade to see a herd of 50 or so alpacas and learn how their wool is spun into yarn on the fibermill.

Opportunities to Support Wildfire Recovery Efforts

Consider using your Spring Break or a free weekend to serve the local community! Some (but not all) opportunities allow you to bring children to serve alongside you.

  • CLEAN-UP VOLUNTEERS REQUESTED: The Cajun Navy Ground Force nonprofit disaster response organization is heading up teams of volunteers to start working on the debris removal phase of recovery. Volunteers needed to help remove furniture, rugs, carpeting, drapes and other household items. All skill levels can be used!  To join, please send an email to [email protected] with name, zip code & phone number to get the process started. 

  • Basecamp Collective is seeking volunteers to help unpack boxes, hang clothes, restock items as needed and assist with displaced families as they come into the warehouse to shop for new shoes, boots, coats, clothing and personal items. Basecamp Collective is located 1753 Boxelder Drive in Louisville (off of Dillon Road between 96th & 104th).   • Client Services Volunteers: We are seeking people with computer skills, customer service, attention to detail. You will be working directly with clients who have been affected by the fire. For details or to sign up, click here.

  • General Volunteer Activities: This project requires physical strength and stamina. For details and to sign up, click here.

  • Dock Assistance Volunteers: This project requires strong volunteers who can lift 45lbs. and operate a pallet jack. For detail and to sign up, click here.

  • Inventory Organization Volunteers: This position requires physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods to sort donated clothing. For details and to sign up, click here.

  • Distribution Center Café Volunteers: Spark's RSVP program is especially seeking volunteers aged 55 and better for this position. Proof of COVID vaccination is REQUIRED for this volunteer position. For details and to sign up, click here.
