Employer Talent Development Program

Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center's Employer Talent Development Program is a business-driven program designed to provide direct financial assistance to train current employees to avert a layoff and/or improve the economic competitiveness of regional businesses. The program is intended to offset a portion, via reimbursement, of the businesses’ costs to train and upgrade the skills of its incumbent workers.

Virtual Information Sessions for Interested Employers

  • Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 3pm to 4pm via Zoom
  • Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 9am to 10am via Zoom

The information sessions will be an opportunity for you to see how your business could utilize ETDP grant funds and to learn about the application process.  Employers are strongly encouraged to attend one virtual information session to understand the program.

Telephone Town Hall discussion County Budget and the American Rescue Plan Act

The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners is hosting a telephone town hall on the county budget and the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) on Monday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. We will be calling 50,000 randomly selected phone numbers to participate, but you don't have to wait to see if you are chosen (see our How to Participate section, below).

During this over-the-phone meeting, commissioners will welcome Jefferson County Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Stephanie Corbo; Strategy and Budget Director, Dan Conway; and Housing, Economic and Employment Services Director, Kat Douglas to discuss the financial realities the county is facing as well as how federal funds from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) are being prioritized.

More importantly, we want to hear from you. You can just listen in, or you can ask the experts questions on these topics.

How to Participate

  • If you are not selected, you are still encouraged to participate by calling 855-695-3486

  • You can also pre-register to receive a call by texting JEFFCO to 833-TXT-LIVE (833-898-5483).

 Colorado Apprenticeship Awards

The Colorado Apprenticeship Awards come during Colorado Apprenticeship Month and after the recent signing of HB21-1007 which creates a State Apprenticeship Agency (SAA) within CDLE.

The agency, housed in CDLE’s Office of Future of Work (OFOW) will serve as the primary point of contact with the United States Department of Labor’s Office of Apprenticeship; accelerate the adoption, promotion, and development of apprenticeship programs; provide support; and be responsible for programs’ compliance with state and federal laws and standards.

The director of the SAA will establish a State Apprenticeship Council (SAC) and Interagency Advisory Committee (IAC) to advance the work. Learn more about this effort at the Apprenticeship Colorado website.

The winners included apprentices, mentors, programs, employers, champions, and partnerships who have demonstrated a remarkable commitment to increasing apprenticeships and expanding access to apprenticeship programs.
