Being a mom is one of the greatest joys in this life. But we know it’s not without challenge.
For some of us today, we have great relationships with our moms, they’re our best friends. But for others, the journey looks a bit different.
For some of us, we never got to meet our moms, or the time spent with them was cut short.
For some of us, we just can’t seem to see eye-to-eye with our moms and now we hardly see each other at all.
Maybe you yourself are not a mother, but everyone, everywhere, some way or another has been impacted by one.
So, to those who became new mommies this year, we celebrate with you.
To moms deep in the trenches of homework and Legos, covered in food stains with eyes decorated in tiredness, we appreciate you.
To those who walk the hard path of infertility, through all the pokes, prods, tears, and disappointment, we walk with you.
To those who have suffered the loss of a child, we mourn with you.
To those who hold their children close, tightly, and safe in their arms, we are so happy for you.
To those who carry disappointment, heartache, or have distance with your children, we sit with you.
To those whose children have made the brave decision to fight for our country, we thank you.
To those who are stepparents or co-parents, we see you. You are not alone.
To those who grieve the loss of their own mother, we grieve with you.
To those abused by the hand of a mother, we acknowledge your pain and love you right where you are.
To those who long to be mothers, we wait with you.
To those who have survived the algebra tests, driving tests, and all the emotional tests of motherhood, we are inspired by your perseverance.
To those whose nest will be empty in the upcoming year, we cry and rejoice with you.
To those who have placed a child up for adoption, we commend you for your selflessness and you are not forgotten.
To those who are pregnant with new life both expected and unexpected, we anticipate with you.
And to all the foster moms, spiritual moms, mentor moms, grandmothers, sisters, and aunts. To all who have stepped in to be a mom to children not your own, we need you.
