Jefferson County in Level Blue On February 26th Jefferson County moved into the level blue "cautious" area of the State's COVID-19 Dial. This means that Jefferson County achieved the following: - 5% or less positivity rate.
- 15-100 cases per 100,000.
- No more than two new COVID-19 hospital admissions per day.
Under Level Blue, all Jefferson County businesses can operate under those requirements. Those who are certified under the Five-Star Certification Program will also be operating at Level Blue. Some Five-Star certified businesses have decided to opt-in to the program and take the required extra steps to increase confidence that they are going above and beyond to keep their customers and employees safe. Jefferson County will continue to work with businesses that would like to participate in the Five-Star Certification Program and continually monitor and update information as it changes.

Jefferson County Celebrates Women's History MonthAbout Women's History MonthWomen’s History Month had its origins as a national celebration in 1981 when Congress passed Pub. L. 97-28 which authorized and requested the President to proclaim the week beginning March 7, 1982 as “Women’s History Week.” Throughout the next five years, Congress continued to pass joint resolutions designating a week in March as “Women’s History Week.” In 1987 after being petitioned by the National Women’s History Project, Congress passed Pub. L. 100-9 which designated the month of March 1987 as “Women’s History Month.” Between 1988 and 1994, Congress passed additional resolutions requesting and authorizing the President to proclaim March of each year as Women’s History Month. Since 1995, presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in a variety of fields.
Badass Women of Arvada
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Arvada Chamber of Commerce is celebrating women leaders in Arvada all month long. Every day in March, a different business leader and community will be highlighted as part of their celebration.
Learn more or nominate yourself or someone as a Badass Woman of Arvada 6th Annual Jeffco International Women's Day 2021
The event usually held in March is being moved to May 7, 2021 in order to allow for additional time for the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines.
One of the main topics discussed on this year's international women's day will be Women and Water. The IX Power Foundation in Golden, CO states that in 80% of households without close access to water, the responsibility falls on women and girls to fetch and carry it. Females spend 200 million hours per day getting and transporting water for their households worldwide. In poorer nations, they walk an average of nearly four miles per day for it. The time and energy used to access clean water is a factor in perpetuating the cycle of poverty.
