JPP Family Highlight!
Meet Carrie and her 4yr old son, Robert. We had Bethany, our new JPP Coach, interview Carrie for the latest in their lives. Read on to learn more about their family.
A musical family…
This family is all about imagination and creativity! Robert (age 4) likes to beatbox, and together they make up their own songs. Robert and his dad, Ryan, play guitar together too!
A personal accomplishment Carrie's proud of: About 10 years ago, she was unable to support herself and was struggling. But through hard work, consistency and community support she is now moving steadily toward self-sufficiency. She now has her own place, her own car, and a well-paying position as a trusted federal employee! Not to mention she's also a breast cancer survivor! You're crushing it, Carrie!
One piece of advice that has really helped her: "Don't give up!"
Something Carrie does for fun: She does what we women, and parents, all need to do better - TLC -she rests, enjoys a little social media time, and takes a nice hot bath!
One thing she has been learning during COVID: "Patience!" During quarantine, Carrie's 4 year old son, Robert, asked her daily, "Am I going to school tomorrow??"
A family success to celebrate: In the past, she lived with her parents, but now she is celebrating that her family is now living all together under one roof, on their own.
A fun fact about Carrie's family: "We are goofy! We like to be weirdos and goof around!"
Kiddo career plans…
Robert was quick to say "A cop!" Carrie says he also wants to be a firefighter, following in his grandpa's footsteps!
A fun activity Carrie's family loves to do and highly recommends:
Carrie and her family frequent the Urban Air Trampoline Park in Arvada. They are also very outdoorsy and enjoy hiking, visiting the mountains, and exploring!
Carrie's thoughts on JPP: "It's an amazing community, seeing so many people come together and support each other!"
"Shout out to my coach Rosa! She stayed on top of me and helped me get things done! I wouldn't be where I am today without her!"
