Keeping Safe While Moving Forward Support for Small Businesses
July 23, 2020
Dear Business and Community Partners;
It is vitally important for our communities to come together and focus on helping our neighbors. Programs like the #SafeandOpen pledge or #TakeoutTakeover are ways for communities to rally around their businesses while at the same time allowing small businesses to demonstrate their dedication to customer safety. Our state has issued a mask mandate requiring masks in virtually all public places. The combination of proactive business tactics and preemptive safety measures will position our community to weather the current situation and be able to bounce back quickly as the virus threat recedes.
Colorado Mask Order
On Thursday, July 16th
, Governor Polis issued a statewide mask mandate. State officials have outlined what you need to know about the mask order
.When do I have to wear mask?
What are the exceptions?
- Upon entry or moving within any public indoor space
- While using or waiting for public transportation such as light rail or buses. This also includes non-personal modes of transportation like Ride-shares or Taxis
What ages have to wear a mask?
- Individuals with hearing disabilities where the ability to see the mouth is essential to communication
- Seated at a food service establishment
- Exercising alone or with members of your household
- Personal services such as those provided in hair salons where a temporary removal of the mask is necessary to perform the service
- Temporarily removing a face covering for identification purposes while receiving services
- Individuals engaged with public safety such as law enforcement, firefighters, or emergency medical personnel
- Officiating at a religious service
- Giving a speech for broadcast or an audience
Children 10 years old or younger do not need to wear a mask. What is a public indoor space?
This is essentially anywhere that is not your own residence or where you are currently residing including hotel rooms

All enclosed indoor areas, whether publicly or privately owned or managed, except an individual’s residence
Takeout Take Over
Local area chambers of commerce have come together to encourage their neighborhoods to participate in Takeout Takeover. As businesses are adapting for take out and delivery services, our Chambers are there to help support and promote these transitions. The chambers have compiled easy to read lists of restaurants and other establishments that are offering safe and secure delivery or take out services. If you would like to participate, please contact your local chamber of commerce.
