JPP understands that many of you might be feeling several different emotions because of everything currently happening around us. As we recognize the murder of George Floyd and the despicable behavior we are witnessing we must remember that he is not the first or only Black individual who has innocently lost their life to police brutality. Together, as JPP, we stand in solidarity and support of the Black community. Systemic racism has plagued our country for centuries and it is time for it to come to an end. JPP’s mission is support ALL families to social and economic stability and to ensure ALL voices are included, listened to, and supported. JPP is committed to being strong allies/accomplices with the Black Community, Persons of Color and all marginalized communities that are currently experiencing systemic oppression.
We, as JPP, are working together to take action around this incredibly important issue:
JPP will be hosting a virtual conversation facilitated by Jeffco Public Schools Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Specialists (Please take a look at what Jeffco Schools Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Team has put together as a Resource). We believe one of the best ways we can be an ally/accomplice is to listen, become informed and educated, and support. These resources shared include tools on how to talk with your child about race.
Please join us on Tuesday, June 23rd from 4:30-6 pm virtually through Zoom.
More information and a link will be provided soon, please look for the email coming out later this week.
We are here to support you and your children.
JPP would like to offer additional tools and opportunities for learning more about the systemic and historical racism of the United States and how to be an ally/accomplice.
Please talk with your coach if you would like us to purchase a book for further learning.
JPP would also like to host a book club for the JPP community to come together and learn together.
We are stronger together and committed to Quality Education + Opportunity= Success for ALL
