JPP logo

Dear JPP,

It is still so much fun to put these announcements together recognizing all of the amazing work families are accomplishing in their lives!  It just does not get old.  Thank you for the opportunity to continue to celebrate with you in a special edition of the JPP Newsletter.  These families represent those who have achieved, accomplished, graduated, strive towards, and reached their goals over the past year.  We will have 5 people each week to celebrate who would have otherwise been recognized in this years' Achievement Award Ceremony 2020.

We can't wait to see what you all do next and we want to keep encouraging everyone to keep pushing towards your goals, whether at home or when we meet again in person.  We support you and we know you can do it!

Cheers to more celebrations and more recognition of the hard work you are doing every day.  We see you and we are so proud of you all.  Please read on for Week FIVE of celebrations, may they forever continue!!

Monica M

Monica M.

We are so proud of all of the hard work that Monica has put in and how far she has come!!

When Monica entered into JPP she was working at home, cooking, and looking for supports for her family. Monica knew she wanted to go to school, but it’s been over 23 years since she was in school last and she was very nervous about making such a big transition. She felt excited, but also nervous about changing her life and thoughts like, “you can’t do it” often passed through her mind from old relationships and bad habits. After meeting with her coach, Monica knew she needed to do something different to obtain the results she wanted for her future so she continued to tell herself that she could do it and enrolled back in school. Monica enrolled to obtain her license to run a home daycare and accept CCAP and did it! She is now waiting for the federal government to issues her license to run a daycare which is the last step in the process. Monica will be licensed to have 15-20 children in her home and has already passed inspections and testing and her courses. She has also continued to take English classes to improve her bilingual abilities and hopes to enroll in a CNA class once she receives her license to provide even better care to the children she watches. Monica really enjoys being part of the JPP community and has learned a lot about herself and what she is capable of through the process. She also feels really good being surrounded by good people and having a community connection for her children.

Felicitacions Monica por trabajar muy duro para obtener su negocio de cuidar los ninos!

Lauren N.

Lauren has had a big year with MANY successes!!

When I joined JPP last year, I had a good job and Was able to utilize JPPs resources and classes to help me make my first home purchase. Shortly after that, I lost my job. Even though losing my job was hard on me, JPP helped me with my job search and led me into an internship with a local marketing company. I have been with them for 12 weeks and will be done with the internship this week. That said, I will then be starting my first week of employment with that same local marketing company!

Great Job Lauren on purchasing your first home and working hard to turn you internship into an employment opportunity! Congrats!!

Jessie on graduation day with her children

Jessie D.

Jessie has come SO far this year!!

Jessie was working in a dead end job for 17 years - yes you read that right, 17 years - with four children and no support when she decided to join JPP. Jessie knew she had a ton of work experience and interpersonal skills to make her successful in any career of her choosing, but she struggled to find the time to put herself first. Exactly one year after joining, doing extensive career exploration, Jessie decided it was time to go back to school and enrolled at Emily Griffith Technical College. 42 credits in five months later, while continuing to work part-time and manage her four children solo, Jessie graduated with her Medical Administrative Assistance Certification! Jessie has since moved to Loveland, obtained a job in her field working full-time supporting her family on a very increased wage. Jessie is focusing on savings, has bought herself a new car and computer and will be welcoming her fifth child into her family this September.

Great job Jessie on taking the leap to go back to school!

Charlotte W.

Charlotte has a lot to be proud of this year!!

My achievements include switching jobs, setting a goal and obtaining the outcome by getting a job with Amazon, and signing up for school and beginning classes. One of the challenges that I faced was taking Biology, which was very hard for me. I gave the class my all, but even so, I came to the realization that it would be best for my mental health to drop the class. This gave me the time and energy to focus on my Sociology class and I ended up getting an A! I also survived remote learning with my kids and paid off 2 credit cards!

Congrats Charlotte on making the career and school changes that were best for you, and succeeding in all of it!!

Meleny has accomplished A LOT this year!!

She has started and completed the WOW (Working Options for Women) program, started her own restaurant inspection business and she has been working on digital design, art projects and photography with her kids to keep everyone's spirits up during the pandemic! Recently, Meleny has taken certifications for new protocols in the restaurant inspections industry so that she can help keep restaurants sanitary and safe during the pandemic!

Great job, Meleny, in continuing to advance in your career AND creatively engaging your kids during such a challenging time! We are so proud of all of your growth this year!!
