Dear JPP,

Thank you for continuing to help us honor each of our community members here - in a special edition of the JPP Newsletter.  These families represent those who have achieved, accomplished, graduated, strived for, and reached their goals over the past year.  We will have 5 people each week to celebrate who would have otherwise been recognized in this years' Achievement Award Ceremony 2020.

We can't wait to see what you all do next and we want to keep encouraging everyone to keep pushing towards your goals, whether at home or when we meet again in person.  We support you and we know you can do it!

Cheers to more celebrations and more recognition of the hard work you are doing every day.  We see you and we are so proud of you all.  Please read on for Week 3 of celebrations.

April has A LOT to celebrate this year!

This last year, I decided that building a savings account was what I wanted to focus on. I started with just a couple hundred dollars and had to focus to save money here and there.  I hoped to build an emergency fund and I really wanted to take my kids on vacation. I’m excited to report that I now have over a few thousand dollars saved, all within a year!!! I have learned how to manage my money. It is a wonderful knowing that I can control my spending and focus.

Great work! Sticking with it = impressive results! Congratulations April!

Inez G.

Inez has put in a TON of hard work, and now it will finally pay off!!
My name is Inez Garcia and I’m working towards earning my Master’s degree in Social Work. I will complete my degree on May 14, 2020! I am the first generation in my family to earn a master’s degree and I’m proud of it. I worked so hard to earn this degree and to prove to my daughter that Latina women are strong and, she too, can earn a higher education. I am looking forward to then getting my license to be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Also, I just purchased my first home and moved in.

Inez, we are so proud of these MAJOR accomplishments! Congratulations!!

Jessica Spindle has MADE MOVES this year!

In making the decision to go back to school, I had to decide if I wanted to overcome the obstacle of already having prior student loan debt and whether this would be a good decision to return. I also struggled with taking the chance to do something for myself instead of always doing things for my family and others. After 4 years, I am now graduating with an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies this May. I am employed with two different law firms working as a legal assistant and subcontracted paralegal. In addition, I have just bought my first home and closed in the beginning of April!

Congratulations on graduating, getting 2 great jobs and buying your first home! You have so much to be proud of!!

Amanda J.

Amanda’s hard work has payed off!
2020 has been an amazing year of growth for me. I started a whole new career path as an Insurance Agent, and in under 2 months, I am licensed and about to close my first sale. It is so comforting to see a bright future ahead for myself. My new boss is so amazing and supportive, I’m moving forward with a new confidence I’ve never felt before. The hardest obstacle to overcome has been learning to trust myself and my decisions. I now have the self-respect and boundaries to represent myself with professionalism and grace. Thank you JPP!
We are so proud of your professional and personal accomplishments this year! Congratulations!

Adriana and Jordan

Adrianna and Jordan

Adrianna and Jordan have moved FORWARD this year!
Jordan has accomplished so much this year. He has worked extremely hard to pay off his debt and raise his credit score. He also has been very busy implementing the budget, which has been very helpful! Adrianna went back to school and is doing well! She accepted a position at Innovage as a Medicaid Analyst. She also has raised her credit score over 100 points! They just close on their first home together on May 5.

Congratulations on your improved credit scores, HOME PURCHASE, new job, and starting school! So much to be proud of this year!!
