Dear Power of Partnership Community,
It is hard to believe that it has been one month since our last gathering, and things have changed so significantly. We went from conversations about prevention to addressing a health crisis with COVID-19. But what has NOT changed is our commitment to partnership!
As we continue to work together, we thought it would be helpful to send out some communication about how we can stay connected to our mission of partnership by providing information, awareness and opportunities for action. We have put together a few key resources that may be helpful. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but a tool to help share information with our community and neighbors.
Helpful Resources for sharing with community members in need
United Way 211 is a state-wide resource hub offering information about food, shelter, COVID-19 related resources, childcare and basic needs. This site is a great way for individuals to call if they need assistance or search the website for resources in their local neighborhoods.
Jefferson County Human Services has a resource page with information regarding specific populations, how to report concerns of abuse and neglect of children and/or seniors, community programs, Jeffco Schools, resources and volunteering. Child and Adult Protection Hotline
Community members can also request emergency assistance on this site.
Jefferson County Business and Workforce Center webpage has information and resources for businesses and those facing unemployment or job seekers.
Colorado PEAK allows for individuals to apply for public assistance on line and make changes to their current case.
Wondering where to go to serve? Looking for volunteer opportunities?
Help Colorado Now is Colorado’s Statewide COVID-19 Volunteer Response. This site is designed to help find opportunities to serve and for programs to request volunteers to help.
Don’t have time to volunteer? You can still support your community by keeping an eye out for your neighbors who may be in need. A simple call or check-in can go a long way in these uncertain times. Continue to follow social distancing protocols, but if you have a concern check it out! There are several ways to support your neighbors whether through social connection or filling a need. One tool for neighborhoods is Next Door. They have created a tool to keep families, friends, and neighbors safe and connected. They have launched a feature to help facilitate neighbors helping neighbors called a “Help Map.”
As always when we work together, we are stronger and can do many things together we could not do alone. Times are uncertain, but together we are better! Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, service and commitment to partner, particularly during these uncertain times.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Stay Healthy and Connected,
Jessica Hansen
