[ARCHIVED] EBT Alert

EBT card

Are you traveling to California or Nevada with a Colorado EBT card? Please call 1-800-536-5298.

To ensure that Colorado EBT Cardholders do not lose benefits due to card cloning, Colorado will block transactions in California and Nevada in cities where cloning has taken place.

How can you protect yourself

• If you plan to be in California or Nevada, please call the State Help Desk at 1-800-536-5298 before you leave. We can help allow transactions to complete in those states for your card.

• Always make sure that you select a PIN number that is not easy to guess. For instance, do not use 1234,1111, 2222, the last 4 numbers of your card or your birth year.

• Do not share your PIN with anyone. Scammers pose as other people and ask for PINs, threatening a stop in benefits. We will never ask for your PIN.

• If you are concerned or believe your card may be at-risk, change your PIN. If you still have concerns, please call 1-888-328-2656 or visit your local county office to report your card stolen.
