Damon Porter Sentenced to 48 Years Prison for Shooting Lakewood Man

Damon Porter

Damon Omar Porter, DOB: 9-10-95, appeared in Jefferson County District Court today, where he was sentenced to 48 years in prison for the shooting of 24-year-old William Scott on April 5, 2018 in Lakewood.

Codefendants Dominic Pacheco-Donelson and Jazmine Hunter were in a stolen car with Porter when they followed William Scott into his apartment complex parking lot. Porter and Hunter got out of the car and approached Scott at gunpoint, demanding his keys and phone. Porter shot Scott in the shoulder as he stood two feet away. Following trial in August, a jury found Porter guilty of First Degree Assault (F3) and three counts of Aggravated Robbery. He was also charged and convicted of two habitual criminal counts.

On November 5, 2018 codefendant Dominic Pacheco-Donelson was sentenced to 24 years in prison for his role. He provided the gun used in the shooting and was on federal parole for gun trafficking at the time of this offense. He pled guilty to Aggravated Robbery (F3); Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6); and one violent crime count. This was his 6th felony conviction.

On August 28, 2019 codefendant Yazmine Hunter was sentenced to 5 years on probation, with one year jail on the work release program. She pled guilty to Robbery (F4).
