(Golden, CO – September 20, 2019) Austin Jeffrey Boutain, DOB: 10-16-93, appeared today in the Jefferson County District Court where he pled guilty to the murder of 63-year-old Mitchell Ingle in Golden in 2017. He pled guilty to First Degree Murder – After Deliberation; Aggravated Robbery; and four violent crime counts.
On October 31, 2017 Golden police were dispatched to the Clear Creek RV Park on a welfare check. They found Mitchell Ingle deceased in his RV. They also found that Mr. Ingle’s vehicle and some of his property was missing.
The investigation led to arrest warrants being issued for Austin Boutain, and his wife, Kathleen Boutain, DOB: 3-17-94, in the death of Mitchell Ingle. Both were arrested in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 31, 2017.
Boutain was extradited from Utah and arrived at the Jefferson County jail on July 17.
Kathleen Boutain has been charged with 20 counts in the death of Mr. Ingle. Her extradition is pending.
Austin Boutain is being held without bond at the Jefferson County jail. Sentencing has been set for October 3 at 3:00. Boutain faces a minimum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The filing of criminal charges is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime(s). A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See RPC 3.6
