(Golden, CO – August 26, 2019) Timothy Albert Bryant, DOB: 8-23-58, appeared in Jefferson County District Court where he was sentenced as a habitual criminal on his 11th felony conviction. Following the habitual criminal phase of his sentencing hearing, Bryant was sentenced to 48 years in prison. The hearing was on August 23, 2019.
On March 4, 2018 Bryant broke into a house on S. Simms in Lakewood and used the homeowner’s tools to break into a safe. He ransacked the house, took $30,000 in coins and over $8,000 in other property from the home.The homeowner said that the property was for his twin grand-daughters’ college fund.
The homeowner was out of town when the burglary took place. A neighbor noticed that something was amiss and contacted the homeowner’s son, who called police.
Mr. Bryant left a fingerprint on a screwdriver that he used to break into the safe. That fingerprint provided a match for law enforcement and led to his arrest.
A jury found Mr. Bryant guilty of Second Degree Burglary (F3); Theft (F4); and Criminal Mischief (F6) following his trial in February, 2019.
