Safety in Faith Summit
Jefferson County, CO. – Jefferson County Sheriff Jeff Shrader is hosting the 5th Annual “Safety in Faith Summit” at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds on Thursday, August 22nd from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; registration and a continental breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m. The summit provides education in faith-based safety and security, as well as offers an opportunity for strengthening relationships between faith leaders in Jefferson County and the public safety agencies that serve them. Representatives from the District Attorney’s Office as well as several local law enforcement and fire and rescue agencies will offer safety information throughout the day.
Topics presented this year include facility preparedness, understanding risks and liabilities, recognizing behaviors and signs of an attacker, and de-escalation techniques. In addition, a panel of experts will present practical insights and tactical how-tos to consider before, during, and after an incident.
Faith based leaders, administrators, safety team members, and volunteers, as well as interested citizens are encouraged to attend. Participation in the event is free but registration is required at www.jeffco.us/728/Safety-in-Faith. Lunch will also be provided.
