District Attorney Pete Weir announced that charges have been filed in the death of 44-year-old Kristian MacLeod on April 13, 2019.
Joshua J. Polaske, DOB: 4-22-91, and Laci Ellaine Barclay, DOB; 6-23-94, have each been charged according to their alleged participation in the homicide. Polaske was in court on April 22 where he was advised that he has been charged with First Degree Murder (F1), Distribution of a Controlled Substance (DF3), Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6), and two violent crime counts. Ms. Barclay was in court on April 19 where she was advised that she has been charged with Accessory to Murder (F4) and Distribution of a Controlled Substance (DF3).
According to information previously released by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 800 block of Kilmer Street in Golden on April 13, 2019. Kristian Macleod was transported with life threatening injuries and pronounced deceased at the hospital that same day.
Mr. Polaske is being held without bond at the Jefferson County jail and has a preliminary hearing set on May 15. Ms. Barclay is being held on $500,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing has been set for May 17, 2019. The arrest affidavit remains sealed at this time pending ongoing investigation.
The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
