Lengthy Prison Sentences for Two Brothers in Kidnapping

Felipe Hernandez

Felipe Hernandez-Escajeda, DOB: 9-24-88, appeared in Jefferson County Court on April 22, 2019 when he was sentenced to prison for 36 years for kidnapping, burglary, and aggravated robbery of three people in Lakewood.

Just after midnight, on August 8, 2017, Felipe Hernandez-Escajeda and his brother, Octavio Hernandez-Escajeda, went to the home of Octavio’s ex-girlfriend. The drunken brothers went into the house and assaulted her. Octavio cut off some of his ex-girlfriend’s hair with a knife. They moved her, a friend of hers who was at the house, and her friend’s five-year-old child, through the house at knifepoint for the next three hours. The brothers threatened to kill the friend and his child and stole property from the friend. The brothers eventually fell asleep and the victims were able to escape.     Felipe Hernandez
