First Judicial District Attorney Pete Weir announced that charges have been filed in the death of 28-year-old Joseph Brinson.
Blake Alan Quinlan, DOB: 9-6-00, was in court on April 10 where he was advised that he has been charged with First Degree Murder (F1); Tampering with a Deceased Human Body (F3); four counts of Identity Theft (F4); Tampering with Physical Evidence (F6); Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6); Theft (M1); Possession of a Defaced Firearm (M1); and two violent crime counts.
According to information previously released by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Brinson was last seen on January 17, 2019 at his home in the 9000 block of Mica Mine Gulch Road in Littleton. His body was recovered on April 3, 2019 in Byers, Colorado.
Blake Quinlan was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County jail on April 4, 2019. He is being held without bond. He is due back in court on May 5 at 11:00 to set a date for his preliminary hearing.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, the arrest affidavit has been sealed so there is not further information available at this time.
The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime(s). A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
