Jefferson County Open Space will soon begin construction on improvements to the main trailhead of Windy Saddle Park at 1277 Lookout Mountain Road, Golden CO. Improvements include a permanent vault restroom, new asphalt overlay and striping for the parking lot, a paved trail connection from the parking lot to the park, new retaining walls, curbs, and gutters, and improvements to drainage.
Construction will begin at the end of March 2019 and will last through the end of summer 2019. Due to the overall limits of work as well as safety considerations, the parking lot will be closed throughout the duration of construction.
Parking is available at the Lookout Mountain Preserve and Nature Center, which provides access to the Lookout Mountain trail and Beaver Brook Trail. Access to the park will still be available via the Colorow Point Access at 1075 Colorow Road, Golden CO and the Chimney Gulch Access at 1678 Lookout Mountain Road, Golden CO.
