When Gladu arrived on October 2, to drop off and pick up documents. he began stabbing Mrs. McClure. He arrived at Mrs.McClure’s with a kitchen knife that he had brought with him from his home. Completely unprovoked, he cut her neck and began stabbing her. When the knife broke, he then picked up scissors and continued stabbing her.
At the sentencing hearing, Mrs. McClure told the judge that she fell to the ground and played dead, hoping he would leave. She said he kicked her 2-3 times to see if she would react, and then left. Mrs. McClure said she believes she saved her life by playing dead.
