Accepting Nominations for Good News Breakfast Celebration

The Good News Breakfast Steering Committee is inviting nominations of individuals or groups to be honored at the 29th Annual Good News Breakfast which will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2018, at 6:59 a.m., at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, 15200 West 6th Avenue, in Golden.

This year’s theme is “Unsung Heroes: Super Heroes Don’t Always Wear Capes”. The Good News Steering Committee is seeking nominations of groups or individuals who could be described as “unsung heroes” because of their commitment, courage and/or dedication to impacting the lives of Jefferson County residents in a significant way. It can be one courageous event or incident, a program, or other example of service to others. Ten honorees will be recognized at the Good News Breakfast for their positive impact in the community.

Anyone in Jefferson County can nominate a person or a group. Honorees are selected by the nominating committee meeting the following criteria:

  • Made noteworthy contribution(s) to improve the quality of life of others;
  • Improved and/or positively affected the lives and living conditions of individuals in our community; and
  • Went above and beyond to make a difference in their community and inspire others to give back.

If an individual is nominated because of his/her job responsibilities, the nominator should explain how the individual goes above and beyond job requirements.

Nomination forms are available at or from Lesa Moseley

Completed nomination forms should be received no later than Friday, February 22, 2019. Mail to Good News Celebration, c/o Lesa Moseley, Jefferson Center for Mental Health, 4851 Independence Street, Suite 200, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, or email

To purchase tickets or answers to questions, contact Jeanne at 303-432-5174 or email

The purpose of the Good News Breakfast is to promote a sense of community, enhance and reaffirm spiritual values and recognize the good things happening in Jefferson County. Volunteers from business, human services, faith community, education, and government organize the annual event, which traditionally draws over 500 people.
