Guilty Plea in Evergreen Vehicular Homicide

Daltyn Hollon

Daltyn Drake Hollon, DOB: 4-6-97, appeared yesterday in Jefferson County District Court where he entered a guilty plea in the vehicular homicide death of 16-year-old Rachel Hern.

On January 20, 2018 Hollon and three friends were traveling westbound on Hwy. 74 near Divide Road in Evergreen. Hollon was driving. He lost control of the car, causing the car to roll and collide with a raised concrete median. The two backseat passengers were thrown from the car. Rachel Hern was one of the backseat passengers. She was severely injured and transported to the hospital where she later died from her injuries. Mr. Hollon and the two other passengers each suffered minor injuries.

Hollon had been observed driving in a reckless and dangerous manner, at an estimated speed of 65-80 mph.

Mr. Hollon plead guilty to Vehicular Homicide – Reckless (F4). He will be sentenced on March 11 at 1:15.
