Charges Filed in Death of Cymone Duran

Abel Gallegos

Three men appeared today in the Jefferson County District Court to be advised of the charges that been filed against them for their alleged roles in the death of 28-year-old Cymone Duran on November 5, 2018.  The three men, Abel Candy Gallegos, DOB: 10-14-83; Alonso Quintana, DOB: 3-21-91; and Rene Francisco Rosales, DOB: 4-15-83, have each been charged according to their alleged participation in the crime.


Abel Gallegos has been charged with 19 counts, including:

2 counts of First Degree Murder (F1)

Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder (F2) 

Second Degree Kidnapping (F3)

Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim (F3)

Tampering with a Deceased Body (F3)

Second Degree Assault (F4)

Tampering with Physical Evidence (F6)

2 counts of Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6)

Possession with Intent to Mfg. or Distrib. Controlled Substance (DF2)

5 Violent Crime counts

Special Offender

2 Habitual Criminal counts


Alonso QuintanaAlonso Quintana has been charged with 13 counts, including:

2 counts of First Degree Murder(F1)

Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder (F2)

Second Degree Kidnapping (F3)

Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim(F3)

Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender (F6)

Violation of Bail Bond Conditions (F6)

4 Violent Crime counts

2 Habitual Criminal counts

Rene Rosales

Rene Rosales has been charged with nine counts, including:

Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Murder (F2)

Tampering with Deceased Human Body (F3)

Accessory to a Crime (First Degree Murder) (F4)

Tampering with Physical Evidence (F6)

5 Habitual Criminal counts



At today’s hearing, bond was set for Mr. Rosales in the amount of $250,000. Mr. Gallegos and Quintana are being held without bond. They are all due back in court on November 27 at 1:30.


The arrest warrant affidavits remain sealed at this time so there is no further information available.



The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime(s).  A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
