Wynn Ray Sichting, DOB: 7-25-58, appeared in Jefferson County District Court on August 31, 2018 and pled guilty to three counts for repeatedly assaulting his 21-year-old ex-nephew and locking him in a metal storage container for several hours.
On September 11, 2017, at 9:00 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to 37484 Parsons Road in unincorporated Jefferson County to investigate a possible assault and kidnapping. The victim had gone to Sichting’s house to collect some of his personal items. He had lived with Sichting until September 5. The victim was standing just inside a large metal storage container when Sichting began to yell at him. Sichting then began punching and kicking him and then him pushed into the back of the container and locked him in. Over a period of hours, Sichting would open the door to the container and continue his assault, and then lock the door again. During the time of his imprisonment, the victim’s clothing was pulled off his body. Eventually, when the container door opened for what the victim believed would be further assault, clad only in boxer shorts and socks he was able to push through and run to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
Sichting pled guilty to Second Degree Assault (F4); Second Degree Kidnapping (F4); and Theft (M3). He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 11 at 8:00. He could be sentenced to up to 12 years in prison.
