All project updates, maps, FAQs, video, and more will be available online beginning March 25 at https://www.jeffco.us/1430/South-Table-Mountain-Park. All questions and comments can be sent to [email protected] and are being collected for public record. Thank you for your understanding.
Jeffco Open Space will host a community meeting on
Wednesday, March 25 from 5:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Denver Marriott West, 1717 Denver West Marriott Blvd, Golden, CO 80401, regarding 2020 Actions and South Table Mountain Park Plan.
Work is underway at South Table Mountain Park to formalize trails and expand visitor management. The goals of these 2020 Actions are to protect nesting raptors, improve visitor experience, and define trail alignments to avoid habitat fragmentation and trespassing on private property. Currently there are seven miles of named and signed designated trail and over 17 miles of undesignated trail on the 1,484 acres of Open Space managed land. These activities will double the number of designated trails, bringing the designated trail total to over 15 miles. This will help ensure the protection of wildlife, habitat, and access to this iconic park.
These improvements follow previous community engagement and park planning, data gathering, visitor survey, and the 2018 Trail Proposal Process.
The public is encouraged to join us at the upcoming meeting to learn more about the current action items. The community meeting will include a presentation, question/answer session, and breakout components to follow.
