Two people have been charged in a Wheat Ridge robbery that occurred in November, 2017. A dog belonging to one of the victims was shot during the robbery. Jemelle Charles Adams, DOB: 2-21-87, and Jasmine Nicole Martinez, DOB: 11-28-94 have been charged with numerous counts of Aggravated Robbery, Burglary, and Menacing. Jemelle Adams has been charged with one count of Aggravated Animal Cruelty (F6).
On November 10, 2017, just before midnight, Wheat Ridge police were called to the American Motel at 10101 W. 170 Frontage Road on a report of a disturbance and possible gunshots.

According to the arrest affidavit, Jasmine Martinez knocked at the door to room 504, giving false names and asking to be admitted. The two women inside the room, Deanna Rodrock and Eileen Sanchez, did not know Martinez and refused to open the door. Jemelle Adams, armed with a handgun, then broke through the door and demanded “pills and money”. Jasmine Martinez, also entered the room, brandishing a weapon. Both Rodrock and Sanchez were assaulted. When Deanna was struck, her two dogs became aggressive and one bit at Mr. Adams’ leg. Adams shot the dog. Adams and Martinez then took items from the room and left.
Adams was arrested on December 5, 2017 and is being held on unrelated charges in Adams County. He is being held on $500,000 bond in the Jefferson County case. His first appearance in Jefferson County will be January 12 at 10:00 where he will be advised of the charges filed against him.
Martinez was arrested on December 1, 2017 and has a preliminary hearing set for January 12 at 8:30. She is being held on $250,000 bond.
