On July 28, 1989, a man trying to find a hubcap discovered a body down an embankment about one-half mile west of Highway 93 on Golden Gate Canyon Road. The body was identified as Sharon Stone, who had also used the names Sharon Flynn and Sharon Geionety. Stone had been living in Clinton, Oklahoma, working as a maid in a hotel. In May, 1989, she called her sister to say she was in Colorado, and that she had come to the state with a man. Stone applied for a Colorado ID card and on May 30, 1989, she worked for a temporary agency.
