On Aug. 27, 1972, skeletal remains were found on Forest Road 554, about one mile east of the Park and Jefferson County lines. The remains were determined to be that of a female, about 17 to 23 years of age, between 5 foot and 5 foot 3 inches tall with dark brown hair. The body had been there for one to three years. Found with the body were a pair of gold-colored earrings, small pearl buttons, brass button and a black pair of shoes. The shoes, described as having one-inch heels and buckles, were about size 6.5. The body was never identified.
