On July 24, 2000, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a telephone call from a Jefferson County Open Space worker who advised that skeletal remains were found on Mount Galbraith located on Golden Gate Canyon Road in Golden, Colorado. The Open Space worker was installing a new hiking trail where the remains were located in a group of trees. Clothing and other items were found in the area of the remains, but no identification was found.
Upon examination of the remains, it was determined that the skeletal remains were from an adult Caucasian male, 45-55 years of age, 5’3” to 5’6” in height and had been on the trail approximately one year.
The attached photographs are of a facial reconstruction done by a forensic sculptor depicting what the male may have looked like at the time of his death.
