[ARCHIVED] Shining a Light on Veterans during November

Green Light A Vet in November

A green light means go and that’s what veterans are known for—their ability to take action quickly no matter the challenge. The greenlight symbol is an easy way to unite ordinary Americans under a single banner and spread awareness of veteran unemployment.

Human Services’ Business and Workforce Center recently held a HIRE A VETERAN Job Fair, in its fifth year of serving Veterans. Over 30 local businesses and employers were in attendance, hiring and supporting Veterans and their family members. Human Services shows its support for America's heroes through our Veterans Employment Services, Veterans Service Office, homelessness resources, and other programs that support Veterans in many ways.

It is our hope that the campaign will ignite a national conversation and bring concrete change. We encourage you to participate by changing your porch light to green for the month of November. Our debt to our Veteran heroes can never be re-paid but our gratitude and respect must last forever.
