Mean Street Family Shelter is open tonight for all families who need a warm place to stay and a hot meal. The family shelter, operated by Mean Street Ministry, is located at 1380 Ammons Street in Lakewood and will open at 6:00 pm tonight. The telephone number is 303-232-2500. If families can call ahead and let the shelter know they are coming, that is helpful. Families may also arrive after after 6:00 pm.
The shelter is only open when:
• Temperature is below 32 degrees with precipitation, or
• Temperature is below 20 degrees with no precipitation
Each severe weather day is determined by 10:30 am each day. The cold weather season is from October 1st through April 30th.
