Jefferson County to Host Community Meetings for Development and Transportation

Together Jeffco 2045 Logo

Jefferson County seeks community input regarding locations for new development, identified wildfire hazard areas, and transportation. The Together Jeffco Plan and Regulation Update process has reached another milestone in the efforts to revise Jefferson County’s Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Comprehensive Plan, Transportation & Mobility Plan, and land use regulations.

After outreach last summer and fall, Together Jeffco project consultants used feedback received from in-person meetings and online activities and created several draft documents, plans and maps. Those will be presented to the public in early March. All presentation materials along with feedback tools will be available at the open house meetings and online. Visit the Together Jeffco website to learn more.

Open House Meeting Information:

  • March 4 — 6:30-8:30 p.m., Golden Gate Grange, 25201 Golden Gate Canyon Road in Golden
  • March 5 — 6:30-8:30 p.m., Evergreen High School, 29300 Buffalo Park Rd in Evergreen
  • March 7 — 4-6 p.m., Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility (Lookout Mountain Room), 100 Jefferson County Parkway in Golden

All events will be open house style, and the same information will be presented at each meeting. Community members are invited to attend anytime within the meeting range to interact with staff and provide input. Additionally, all presentation materials along with feedback tools will be available online by March 4. Online comments will be accepted through March 31.

Documents available for comment include drafts of a Visions, Values, and Guiding Principles document, a Jefferson County Profile, land use maps, a revised Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) map and methodology, draft hazard analysis maps, the Evacuation Annex document, a report on transportation existing conditions, and the first phase of draft regulations. The county would like to gather input from Jeffco residents, business owners, and visitors.

Spanish interpretation will be provided at each meeting and children are welcome. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend. If you require reasonable accommodations to participate in these meetings, please contact Planning & Zoning at least three business days before the event.
