At 7:20 a.m., JCSO deputies were dispatched to Crown Hill Cemetery located at 7777 W. 29 Ave., regarding damage to a mausoleum. Upon arrival, deputies observed severe damage to the crypt front on a private mausoleum, as well as damage to the crypt and casket inside. It appears unknown suspects entered the cemetery during the overnight hours, forced entry into the crypt and gained access to the casket. The casket, that housed the decedent’s remains, had been pried open and portions of the body were removed. A thorough search of the area was completed, and the crime scene was processed for evidence.
