[ARCHIVED] Jeffco Open Space Hosts 2017 Volunteer Recruitment Fair

Each year Jeffco Open Space asks the community to contribute to their mission to preserve, protect and provide by joining the organization as a volunteer. In 2016, a record 3,015 volunteers donated 38,345 hours to Jeffco Open Space. An upcoming volunteer recruitment fair will allow interested citizens to meet and greet current volunteers as well as staff, to understand all the different ways to get involved.

Jeffco Open Space has been the natural choice for volunteering since 1972. Ever since a grassroots campaign resulted in the creation of the organization, volunteers have been pitching in for their open space and parklands.

Jeffco Open Space was founded as a land conservation organization in 1972. Our mission is to preserve open space and parkland, protect park and natural resources, and provide healthy, nature-based experiences. Funded with a one-half of one percent sales tax, our organization contributes to city and park district projects, has preserved more than 54,000 acres, and manages 28 open space parks and more than 230 miles of trails in Jefferson County, Colorado.
