  • Generated over $2.1 million in savings for Jefferson County with the migration to T-Mobile as a singular cellular service provider.

NACo Achievement Award for Innovation Internship and Fellowship Programs

The Jefferson County Business Innovation & Technology department has been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for their Innovation Internship and Fellowship programs. The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents.

The internship and fellowship programs offer college students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and to bring transformative technology and business process improvements to the county. These programs are a strategic way for Jefferson County to address critical business needs by recruiting and developing a first-class workforce. The interns and fellows lead exploratory projects to identify creative new solutions and technologies for employees and constituents. In coordination with departments across the county, these programs have provided opportunities to research, evaluate, and pilot innovative opportunities in areas such as business intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotic process automation.
