On April 25, the Jeffco Commissioners, along with many city and county partners, broke ground in Wheat Ridge on The Ives.
A 50-unit community housing those earning 30-60% AMI with half of the units subsidized by Foothills Regional Housing to house folks experiencing homelessness. Jefferson Center for Mental Health will provide on-site and telehealth services to those who have experienced homelessness. Located in a highly walkable neighborhood along the Wadsworth Corridor in Wheat Ridge, the project will benefit from the Wadsworth widening project with increased safety and walkability.
To assist with construction costs, Jefferson County invested HOME funds - - $1,000,000. HOME is the HOME Investment Partnership Program and is federal entitlement funds awarded to the county annually to support affordable housing.
The Ives is a great example of what can be created when key partners and stakeholders come together in Jefferson County to create a community for those in need.
