Jefferson County is partnering with Lakehurst Water and Sanitation District this summer to relocate one mile of water mainline before the road widening construction project starts this fall. Lakehurst hired Brannan Construction to build the new water line from South Beech Way to South Swadley Court. Recently, crews met a young resident named Sawyer. Sawyer has been watching the construction project from his window every day. This past week he decided to say “Hello” in his own construction outfit. The crew enjoyed taking a few moments to meet Sawyer and show him some of the equipment they use. Sawyer is autistic and rarely gets the opportunity to experience something so “cool” right in his front yard. He plans to tell his teacher all about this next month when he returns to school. Thanks Sawyer!
Please see the comments received from Sawyer’s mom below:
“We live on the corner of Quincy and Quinn where a large project is going on. My son Sawyer watches from the window every day. He got the courage to put on his construction outfit and go say hello today and your employees were so kind and so friendly. Sawyer is Autistic and rarely gets the opportunity to experience something “so cool” to him. Thanks to your amazing team for making one kids whole year. He can’t wait to tell his teacher next month.”
