InfraGard is hosting a 4-part series on Elder Justice and Healthcare. The first session is June 8th 10am-11am.
Calling all older adults and people who care about them: please join InfraGard NCR for the first in a four-part series on Elder Justice & healthcare! This series aims to show you what health care fraud and abuse against older adults looks like, why criminals are targeting older adults, and how we can work together to keep older adults safe. As June 15 is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, our Elder Justice events in June will focus on health care frauds and abuse/neglect that impact older adults.
In this first session, experts from the FBI and AARP will identify the health care fraud schemes that target older adults, describe the red flags that might accompany such schemes, explain how to report these frauds, and offer guidance about what to do if you're the victim of such a fraud. To register, contact: [email protected]
Additional sessions Infragard has coming up:
June 15 @ 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm MST
Elder Fraud
Presented by the FBI El Paso Field Office in collaboration with Harvest Christian Center
Two one-hour presentations will inform our elder community and interested community members of how the elderly are being targeted, why they are being targeted, what they can do to minimize their risk of becoming a target, and lastly what to do if they think they might be a victim or potential victim of Elder Fraud. Seniors trust their faith-based organizations and gather there weekly, what better venue than to bring them together at their organization to discuss this ever-growing problem. Presentations will be live-streamed on Harvest Christian Center’s Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/HCCElPaso/ [usg02.safelinks.protection.office365.us].
