Sheltair’s newest Fixed Based Operator (FBO) and its first location away from the East Coast of the U.S. wasted little time landing in the top 5% of FBOs in this year’s survey. The company began operations at Jefferson County's Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport from a temporary facility in January 2019.
The $20 million permanent complex followed in mid-2020 during the height of the pandemic and earned AIN’s inaugural Top Flight Award for best new FBO. The complex provides panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver. Currently home to 11 turbine aircraft, it opened with a single 31,000 square foot heated hangar, with a second similar-sized structure under construction and expected to come online this summer, along with 5,200 square foot of office space and a covered carport.
