In 2020, Resilient Jeffco conducted an analysis on county cellular service. Through the analysis, a significant opportunity to reduce annual operating costs was found. With help from the Sheriff's Office, Human Services, and Road & Bridge, Resilient Jeffco organized comprehensive network testing and found that T-Mobile’s network was competitive with AT&T and Verizon.
Over the past year, Resilient Jeffco partnered with many departments to test network strength of T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon. Resilient Jeffco was also supported by Business Innovation and Technology to conduct further research and analyze data in more impactful ways. T-Mobile became Resilient Jeffco’s essential partner in converting devices, buying back old devices, and transitioning accounts for employees in those divisions and departments who have championed the switch so far.
Throughout the project, Resilient Jeffco has found major ways to reduce costs across the county, unify departments through a single network provider, and maintain quality service for Jeffco employees. Building relationships with multiple departments to support their transitions helped Resilient Jeffco establish trust and open communication with many different county operations. Plus, utilizing one service provider unites and interconnects departments to collaborate at a higher level. Resilient Jeffco hopes to capitalize on future opportunities to bring departments together in a way that reduces costs, fosters trust and helps newly discovered efficiencies develop their full potential.
