Emmi sentenced to 10 years in prison for murder-for-hire case

GOLDEN, Colo. (Aug. 16, 2021) – Jennifer Reba Emmi (DOB: 1/16/1978) was sentenced Monday in Colorado’s First Judicial District Court to 10 years in prison for multiple cases dating back to 2019.

“The defendant poses a threat to the health and safety of our community and caused significant trauma to the victims of her crimes,” said Senior Deputy District Attorney Kate Knowles. “The court’s sentence ensures that they can move on with their lives without fearing for them.”

 On June 28, Emmi pled guilty to nine felony charges across three different cases, including: 

  • Solicitation of Murder in the Second Degree (21-CR-263)
  • Retaliation Against a Witness or Victim (21-CR-263)
  • Stalking – Threat – Communicate – Protection Order Violation (21-CR-263)
  • Attempt to Influence a Public Servant (21-CR-1954)
  • Violation of Bail Bond Conditions – Felony (21-CR-1954)
  • Felony Menacing – Real/Simulated Weapon (20-CR-181)
  • Child Abuse – Knowingly/Reckless – No Injury (20-CR-181)
  • Child Abuse – Knowingly/Reckless – No Injury (20-CR-181)
  • Assault in the Second Degree – Strangulation – Heat of Passion (20-CR-181)


The most serious of Emmi’s cases involved a murder-for-hire plot, while the 2020 charges stem from a domestic violence and child abuse case.
