To increase safety at the Jefferson County Administration and Courts Facility, we will be closing the front roundabout to vehicle traffic. Construction for this project will begin on July 26 and is currently scheduled to be complete by mid-September. We had an incident in 2019 where a vehicle lost control, crossed the front walkway and ran into the benches. There were no pedestrian injuries with that incident, however we want to ensure something like that doesn’t happen in the future.The existing parking spaces in the circle will be moved to areas within the parking structures. There will now be covered accessible spaces in the lower-level of the courtside garage and van accessible spaces added to the upper-level of the administration side of the facility. Please see the diagram for more detail. Changes will also be made to the drop-box area on the north side of the Administration and Courts Facility. The drop boxes for ballots and tax payments will still be available to the public in the same proximity, just further from the building and closer to Jefferson County Parkway.We understand that the construction and the relocation of parking may impact some.
