[ARCHIVED] Swap Super Bowl Snacks for a Healthier Party

Jefferson County, CO — Every year, on the first Sunday in February, buffalo sauce flows like the Platte River and tortilla chips crunch like Colorado dirt during a drought. Even when our beloved Denver Broncos aren’t playing, Colorado knows football, and we know how to throw a Super Bowl party.

But with those New Year’s Resolutions of getting — and staying — healthy still fresh on our minds, the dishes often passed around in front of the big screen may not be the best options. The biggest day in American sports deserves healthier choices.

Poor diet, lack of physical activity, alcohol use and tobacco use often cause serious diseases, like obesity, heart disease, cancer, diabetes and more. So on the day we celebrate some of our country’s greatest athletes, take an interest in your own health. Included is a link to the Healthy Super Bowl Party Toolkit, with a variety of slimmed down fan-favorite recipes, suggestions for healthy beverages and a game-time stretch break plan. Download the Healthy Super Bowl Party Toolkit here.
