Park Visitors MUST be Vigilant During Heightened Fire Danger
Jeffco Open Space (JCOS) is closely monitoring the nearby fires and associated fire risks with the Jeffco Sheriff's Office, fire rescue agencies and other public land managers. While our parks remain open, visitors MUST use extreme caution while enjoying the outdoors. It is critically important that visitors adhere to all Park Regulations and report violations, especially those related to fire safety. If you see potential fire safety risks or violations of fire restrictions or closures, please report them immediately by calling 303.980.7300.
All JCOS Parks have the following year-round fire restrictions for the safety of park visitors and neighbors:
- No Fires – all campfire rings and grills have been removed from all JCOS parks
- No Smoking - except in an enclosed vehicle. All cigarette butts must be extinguished and discarded in the vehicle
- The discharge of firearms on any Open Space property is also prohibited
These regulations are being Strictly Enforced; violators will be prosecuted.
Know before you go and be sure to check park and trail closures across the Front Range by visiting the COTREX website or individual National and State websites for current information.
