(Golden, CO – September 30, 2020) Alan Russell Brazulis, DOB: 4-3-88, has been charged with multiple counts in the vehicular homicide death of 41-year-old Griffin Korosec and injury of four others. On September 25, 2020 the following charges were filed: Vehicular Homicide – DUI (F3); Child Abuse SBI (F3); three counts of Vehicular Assault (F4); Third Degree Assault (M1); Child Abuse (M1); two counts of DUI (M); and Driving without a License (T2).
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, on July 26, 2020 an Arvada police officer was traveling westbound on Oberon Road, behind a Toyota 4Runner, when he observed a white Pontiac coming towards them in the wrong lane. The Pontiac was traveling eastbound in the westbound lane. The Pontiac, driven by Mr. Brazulis, collided with the 4Runner. Griffin Korosec was the passenger in Brazulis’s car and she died at the scene. There was a family of four in the 4Runner, two adults and two young children, all of whom were injured.
An arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Brazulus on September 18, 2020. He was arrested on that warrant in Grand Junction on September 22, 2020. He was transported to Jefferson County jail on September 30, 2020 and is will have his first court appearance on October 1, 2020 at 10:00. Mr. Brazulus is being held on $500,000 bond.
The filing of a criminal charge is merely a formal accusation that an individual has committed a crime(s). A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. See Colo. RPC 3.6
